Standing Balance Exercises - Level 2 Standing Balance with Altered Base of Support

    Standing While Performing an Lower Body Manual Task
  • Foot drawing - Use a foot to draw or write on the floor (writing their first name with the right foot and their last name with the left foot, drawing circles, squares, etc.)
  • Moving a small towel in different directions with the foot (Having participants push the towel away from and back toward the body in a variety of directions, scrunch and un-scrunch towel with one foot, then transfer towel to opposite foot)
  • Standing with one foot on a small ball, moving it in directions (forward, backward, circle, etc.)
  • Replace the ball with a more compliant one that doesn't allow as much weight to be placed on it for support (balloon).
