104a Buoyant Equipment: Hamstring Curls/ Back Kicks
Buoy - Leg Curl
(Ex. Hand buoys, noodles, etc.)
Muscle action: concentric and eccentric hamstrings
In standing position, stand on one foot with knees slightly bent. Wall may be used for balance.
Start position: Majority of weight should be on support leg while maintaining good posture. Leg extended in front of body (thigh as close to parallel to bottom of pool as possible). Buoyant equipment should be on ankle.
Movement: Keep thigh parallel to pool bottom, bend at knee and pull heel of non-support leg towards pool bottom; Extend at knee and return to start position. Repeat on other leg.
Exhale when pulling with heel; inhale when returning to start position.
