Abduction/Adduction

Muscles Worked: Deltoids (abduction) and Latissimus Dorsi (adduction)

Water Depth: Armpit level or slightly lower when standing upright.

Stance: Front to back lunge position, squatting with shoulders submerged, arms at sides.

Action: Raise arms up to sides and back down. (Abduction and adduction of the arm from the shoulder.)

Cues: Keep the shoulders down and back. Concentrate on the muscles being worked. Contract the core to keep the body still and grounded while moving from the shoulders only.
