024 Practice What You Have Learned

All movement is referenced from anatomical position (standing up tall with palms forward) unless otherwise noted.

  1. Flexion of the leg at the hip (front leg raise) is movement in the sagittal plane around the frontal axis.
  2. Abduction of the arm at the shoulder (lifting the arm to the side) is movement in the frontal plane around the sagittal axis.
  3. Flexion of the arm at the shoulder (front arm raise) is movement in the sagittal plane around the frontal axis.
  4. With the arms extended at the side at shoulder height, and bringing them forward and out, (horizontal abduction and adduction) is movement in the transverse plane around the vertical axis.
  5. Rotation of the torso at the lumbar spine (trunk twist) is movement in the transverse plane around the vertical axis.
  6. Abduction of the leg at the hip (side leg raise) is movement in the frontal plane around the sagittal axis.
